Job Description: Mud Bay Store Staff

Duties:

Customer Service

  • Makes sure every customer has an educational interesting, fun visit
  •  Makes sure every customer has gotten as much help as he or she wants
  • Answers questions about food and supplies
  • Rings up purchases accurately
  • Carries customers? purchases to their cars (Up to 50 pound bags of food.)
  • Works according to the 12 Fundamentals for How We Operate Mud Bay


Store Operations

  • Helps break down orders and put away inventory (This can be up to 6 pallets of bags weighing up to 40 pounds each)
  • Helps with stock status/inventory maintenance
  • Uses forms for doing normal business
  • Rotates and restocks shelves with inventory
  • Maintains merchandising plans, keeps the inventory looking good
  • Initiates cleaning store and inventory and cleans as directed
  • Works safely, and helps maintain safe working environment
  • Makes sure products have labels and shelves have correct signs
  • Assists with store ordering
  • Works independently and is able to adapt to chaotic times while doing more than one of the above at the same time


Training

  • Completes training sheets inside 90 day period
  • Attends company-wide training sessions
  • Attends training sessions offered in stores by sales reps
  • Assists in training co-workers


Participates in Company Works

  • Attends store meetings and participates in discussions
  • Reads memos, makes written suggestions where necessary
  • Keeps personal staff handbook updated


Qualifications:
Animals are an important part of the lives of customer service staff. They appreciate the aesthetics of politeness and the art of great service, and they genuinely enjoy making people happy. They're comfortable working alone or in groups, can take direction, give direction and manage themselves. They have good communication skills, are adept at arithmetic and are comfortable using computers. They are able to carry customers' purchases and help put away pallets of inventory.
