In the years before it became focused on dogs and cats, Mud Bay had its own brand of chicken feed.

"Home-Ec for Dogs": Mud Bay ran humorous newspaper advertisements to increase dog and cat owners awareness of diet and canine and feline health.

8221 Greenwood Avenue N was one of the eight locations Mud Bay took over on August 19, 2000.

Mud Bay has one of the largest selections of natural foods for dogs and cats of any retailer in the United States.

Mud Bay opened a 30,000 square foot distribution center in Olympia in 2007.
